Debralee Quinn

I have been at CHA for three years as the nurse educator for ambulatory care. For me it was a return trip as I was a graduate of the last 3-year class from Somerville Hospital School of Nursing.  Therefore, I am hoping to make it full circle at CHA starting my nursing career here and ending here when retirement calls.

Every day is different for me as I assist with onboarding and creating learning opportunity for staff in the ambulatory clinics. I am able to help facilitate changes as I work with nursing councils such as: Policy & Procedure, Ambulatory Practice, Professional Development and Professional Practice Model. I also like to promote certification in the ambulatory setting and I lead by example by holding certifications in several specialties. As an educator, I learn from the staff what their educational needs are and try to meet them in real time. While I learn something new every day, somedays the learning curve is steep since I have not had clinical experience in that specialty. The opportunity to learn creates clinical collaboration with not only nursing but also other specialties. I have had the pleasure to work with my pharmacy colleagues to implement new medications to the ambulatory clinics a truly wonder full experience. As a Gold Fellow, I will be able to continue the collaborative process with CHA colleagues in different departments to help achieve Zero Harm using the co-production process with patients.

I have a BA from Graceland University and a Masters in Nursing from Salem State University. Most of my career has been in nephrology nursing and education.

I experience workplace excitement at CHA as it is always a new opportunity to learn, explore,  and connect.
