Zoom Webinar for TUSM Faculty: "I'm Not Biased, But Everyone Else Is: How Our Cognitive Biases Impact Clinical Grading" (12-1 pm)

Goal: The goal of this webinar is to introduce participants to approaches to mitigate cognitive bias in clinical evaluation and grading while having them reflect on their own evaluation and grading practices.

Description: At this webinar participants will have an opportunity to reflect on their experiences evaluating and grading clinical trainees and appraise the influence of cognitive bias in evaluating and grading trainees. Participants will also be introduced to interventions intended to mitigate cognitive bias in evaluation and grading.

Objectives: By the end of this webinar, participants will be able to:
• Define cognitive biases.
• Complete short in-session exercises exemplifying at least 3 cognitive biases.
• Identify the potential impact of cognitive biases on clinical grading.
• Name 3 interventions that could mitigate the impact of cognitive bias on grading.
